Our red wine vinegar starts life as a wonderful fruit-forward, aromatic full bodied red wine made locally at Vankleek Hill Winery, just a stones throw away from our orchards.
Frontenac noir is an excellent cold-hardy, French-American hybrid grape which grows well in Eastern Ontario. Ian combines this Frontenac noir wine with our vinegar cultures in a traditional fermentation method for 3 weeks. Our Frontenac Noir red wine vinegar features a very rich, deep red color and flavor notes reminiscent of black fruit like blackberries and dark cherries. Think about pairing this red wine vinegar with foods having robust flavours like salads where you’re adding cheese or creamy elements or marinades for red meat or lentil dishes.
